Brief Description on NTE123AP
TheNTE123APis aNPN Audio Amplifier transistorwith a maximum gain of 300. The transistor also has a good collector current value of 600mA and can be toggled with a base voltage of only 6V making it suitable for switching applications. These transistors are commonly used in place of BC547 or 2N2222 when they are not available. But it is not a direct replacement so refer the datasheet to make sure it suits your design. The 2N5089 Transistor form the 2N series can be assumed as a direct replacement for theNTE123AP transistor.
The transistor also has its complementary PNP part, theNTE159 transistorhence can be used in push pull or other amplifier circuits. The NTE123AP transistor is commonly confused with NTE123A, both these transistor are completely different in specs. The NTE123AP comes in a TO-92 package while the NTE123A comes in a metal can TO-18 package.
